About Guido

1988 BASSMASTER Classic Winner
2002 Professional Bass Fishing Hall of Fame Inductee

Guido Hibdon was born and raised on Lake of the Ozarks, in Missouri. Guido's father was a well known guide on this lake and his lessons were not lost on the younger Guido. Guido began guiding on the lake at the tender age of 14.

Guido and his wife Stella have raised three children with fishing and hunting playing a major role along the way.

Guido is one of the more seasoned pros on the B.A.S.S and FLW circuits having turned pro in 1980. Son Dion joined him on the professional circuit in 1985. Today Guido, Dion and Stella travel the B.A.S.S and FLW circuits together.

For Guido, one of the crowning moments of his life occurred when his son Dion "stepped out of his shadow" to win the 27th annual BASS Masters Classic®. This accomplishment by Dion gives the Hibdons a unique place in the history of bass fishing; the first father and son duo to each win the most prestigious tournament in bass fishing, the BASS Masters Classic®.

During the span of his career Guido Hibdon has been called many things: Grizzled veteran, wily competitor and "professor of finesse" all come to mind. 1988 BASS Masters Classic® Champion and 1990 and 1991 Angler of the Year are titles that you hear quite often. Simply put, many people, fans and his peers alike, consider Guido to be one of the finest bass fishermen in the world.

But with Guido, you are best if you stay with the basics, stick to his roots. Be it guiding fishermen on the Lake of the Ozarks as a young man, shepherding his son and countless other fishermen through the perils of competitive bass fishing or consulting with companies to produce the best possible products for this industry, Guido Hibdon is, and always will be "a guide".
